Foam Rubber Sheet Made to Your Specifications
At Aero Rubber Company, we specialize in producing high-quality rubber products in a variety of elastomers, densities, thicknesses and widths. One of the products we manufacture is foam rubber, available in both sheets and rolls. Many industries rely on foam rubber sheets, including the military, aerospace, consumer goods, automotive, construction, lighting, and housing sectors. We create both open- and closed-cell foam, as well as polyurethane, neoprene sponge foam, blended compounds, and more.

Foam Rubber Sheet Capabilities
Foam rubber sheet is extremely versatile. It is available in a variety of materials with distinct features and capabilities that are designed to suit a broad range of applications. Here are some of the most common materials Aero Rubber Company uses to produce foam rubber sheets:
This material is divided into two distinct foam types: polyester and polyether. Also known as PU, the foam is known for its exceptional durability and practicality in the oil, gas, construction and transportation industries.
Silicone foam is ideal for applications where top-quality performance is needed. This includes industrial applications that expose the sheet or fabricated parts to high and low temperatures and compression.
PVC/Nitrile Rubber Sponge
Rubber sponge is a blended polymer of nitrile and PVC materials. It is highly effective for sound reduction and is heat- and impact-resistant. The material is often used to create seals and roof insulation.
This material comes in two variations: neoprene sponge blend (Neoprene, EPDM, and SBR), and 100% neoprene sponge (no blend). The blend offers additional weather- and wear-resistance, whereas 100% neoprene provides excellent oil-resistance.
Fluoroelastomeric (FKM) Viton sponge rubber is extremely durable and can be exposed to oil, acid, UV rays, heat, and precipitation without degrading. This makes it ideal for applications like high-temperature oil and fuel gaskets, acoustic dampening equipment, and other heavy-duty chemical-resistant industrial uses.
- Pressure-sensitive adhesive backing in standard, high-temperature, or high-tack versions.
- Cloth reinforcements on one or both sides
- Fiberglass reinforcement to create extra strength and durability (silicone sheet only).
In addition, we offer the following production capabilities:
- Commercial- and specification-grade compounds customized to your needs.
- Material as thin as 0.005 inches or as thick as 6 inches with multiple rubber sheets laminated together. Sheets can be as wide as 54 inches.
- Die-cutting and stripping cutting of foam rubber sheets.
Open- vs. Closed-Cell Foam
It is important to understand which type of cell foam will work best for your intended use. The main distinctions between open- and closed-cell foam are their permeability and density or compression. Both types of foam are durable and long-lasting, even with heavy use.
Closed-cell foam is harder and less permeable. Since closed-cell foam does not absorb water, it’s frequently used in products that require strength and security, including gaskets, stripping, or wiper blades. It can be formulated to offer resistance to high and low temperatures, oil, chemicals, abrasion, and fluids.
Open-cell foam is softer and more permeable. It is ideal for manufacturing mouse pads or orthotics. It is also excellent for sound dampening and shock absorption applications.
