Custom Rubber Hose and Sleeves to Meet Your Specifications
When off-the-shelf rubber sleeves and hoses will not meet the requirements of your project, you should select a manufacturer that has extensive experience in producing custom rubber hose products for a wide range of industries. At Aero Rubber, we know that our customers require reliability within tight deadlines and under strict quality standards. Our knowledgeable engineers can quickly develop an understanding of your product needs and provide you with an accurate and competitive quote.
Choosing the appropriate rubber material increases the long life and optimal performance of your rubber hoses and sleeves. We work with the following rubber materials to create reliable, high-performance products:
Natural Gum Rubber
Gum rubber has high tensile strength and elongation, excellent tear and abrasion resistance, and remains flexible at low temperatures.
Synthetic Polyisoprene is a strong, non-latex alternative to natural rubber. It has excellent tensile strength, tear and abrasion resistance and eliminates the concerns for Latex Protein allergies.
Viton is trade name for (Chemours) / FKM (fluoroelastomer). FKM has excellent resistance to ozone, ultraviolet, fuel, greases and oil, and solvent damage. It can also operate reliably in temperatures up to 400°F.
Silicone offers an extremely wide working temperature range, performing consistently in higher temperatures up to 450°F. Special compounds can offer higher (and lower temperature resistance). Silicone resists UV and ozone-related damage and can have a long lifespan in the right conditions. Silicone rubber sleeves can be produced with a high purity level, making it a popular material for medical, pharmaceutical, and food processing applications.
Polyurethane is resistant to a wide range of environmental, chemical, and physical sources of damage. It’s often selected for its high tensile strength and excellent resistance to abrasion and tearing and offers a better temperature range than Natural Rubber. It can also be run from very soft (00 Scale) to very hard (D Shore Hardness).
Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM)
EPDM has a relatively wide temperature range, from approximately -60°F to 250°F and boasts superior resistances to ozone and ultraviolet radiation exposure. These attributes make EPDM ideal for outdoor applications. It’s also resistant to tearing and abrasion, steam, and some acids.
Featuring a wide temperature range from -60°F to 250° butyl can be used for a wide range of outdoor applications. It offers excellent resistance to ozone and ultraviolet radiation and can handle significant pressure.
Neoprene is a general purpose non-latex elastomer. Offering very good resistance to petroleum based oils, it is also resistant to environmental and physical damage.
Nitrile rubber, also known as Buna N—has excellent resistance to chemicals and can withstand exposure to greases and oils, solvents, and fuels. The material also features good abrasion and tear resistance.
Styrene-butadiene rubber—also known as Buna S—is extremely abrasion resistant. The material can also resist weathering, tearing, ozone, and UV. Its tensile strength is rated as good to fair.
Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber
HNBR offers many of the same characteristics as NBR. It resists damage from fuel, grease and oil, and tearing. It also has excellent tensile strength. Because it offers a higher heat resistance, from -20°F to 330°F compared to NBR, it is often preferred for automotive applications.
Hypalon is a chlorosulfonated polyethylene resistant to UV radiation and ozone damage, making it ideal for outdoor applications. It is frequently used as a coating for hoses and marine products.
We can produce hoses and sleeves in a wide range of shapes, including:
- Angular hoses, which are similar to angled sleeves
- Conical sleeves, which connect round and rectangular parts together
- Connector sleeves, which have fixed or rigid ports to connect different hoses
- Hump hoses, which allow for slight bends and adjustments when building connections or complex pipe systems
- Straight sleeves, which can connect parts or create a protective cover
At Aero Rubber, we specialize in creating mandrel-made sleeves and mandrel-made hoses. Unreinforced mandrel-made tubes are highly flexible with the ability to bend and stretch for easy installation. Our custom mandrel-made hoses have a cloth insert that makes the hose walls rigid and adds strength throughout the life of the hose.
We’re proud to serve numerous industries with our extensive selection of hoses and sleeves. Some of the most common applications for our products include:
- Bridge building and construction applications
- Chemical transport assemblies
- Electrical connector seals and sheaths
- Electronic seals
- Equipment in the food processing industry
- Fluids handling equipment in the dairy industry
- High voltage insulation
- HVAC systems
- Medical equipment, such as peristaltic pump tubing
- Mining equipment and systems
- Military and aerospace applications
- Water purification systems
