In order to assist our customers in obtaining optimum performance and shelf-life from pressure sensitive adhesive backed material purchased from Aero Rubber Company Inc., we suggest that you consider the following “industry standard” preparation, application and storage guidelines:
SURFACE PREPARATION:
Free the surface where applying the PSA of dust, mold releases, dirt, oil, moisture or other contaminants. This assures optimum bond strength. Select a cleaning agent that does not leave a residue such as isopropyl alcohol.
REMOVAL OF BACKING PAPER:
Remove backing paper with care. Select a corner area and make sure that you DO NOT grab the adhesive layer, just the backing paper. Then, carefully pull the backing paper off of the adhesive.
CAUTION:
Use care when removing the backing paper. Even with the best PSA appliction the PSA may peel off right along with the backing paper. Use caution when peeling off the backing so your PSA functions as intended.
APPLICATION:
Once the surface has been properly prepared, the PSA backed material and the surface to which it is to be applied should both be at a temperature above 72 degrees Fahrenheit before proceeding with application.
STORAGE:
Store pressure sensitive adhesive backed material in a cool dry area, circa 70 ± 6 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure the uniformity and performance of the product. Aero accepts no responsibility for the performance of adhesives that have not been properly stored and/or have been stored by the customer for longer than six (6) months beyond Aero’s ship date.
